Forum Tomorrow- Wed Feb 13th.

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

I sent in a question. I have had a busy few days and yesterday I was not feeling well and had a horrible commute home–along with today. Here is a very quick recap.

1) Council was nice to Roger this time unlike last year.

2) I am happy that the Drive Through Issue will be looked at but please find a way to piggy back off of Mississauga, their stakeholders that they have already met with are our stakeholders. Share info save $$ .

More after I watch the recording again.

I hope as many as possible make it out to the Forum then I post my questions and the responses I have received.

If I don’t get a response, you judge for yourself and see if the questions were slanted in anyone’s favour.

Candidate questions– change in posting date

Monday, February 4th, 2008

I had a second email from a candidate– they emailed all the other candidates their response.
The first one asked why I was asking questions in the first place and the second one questioned my motives for asking my questions. If I was not a fair person I would be posting their names but I am not going to do that. (more…)

Questions sent to Candidates– have been emailed.

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

I have just sent an email to all the candidates in the by-election.

Candidates have until next Saturday to return their answers to me. I am not posting my questions until I have the responses back. I hope everyone participates. I have given everyone an opportunity to express themselves and those that are campaigning on experience I have some specific supplemental questions to them and they won’t apply to the others.

I am not confirming any email sent- I already sent it so those with these extra hoops that I must jump through– go check your junkmail.

My own disclosure

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

When I opened the blog or shortly after I mentioned that I was friends with a candidate but this blog was formed before we knew Joe was going to win the Provincial seat and therefore cause the by-election.

I opened the blog independently from my friend’s political goals.

Comments and Candidate Forum

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

I had a response from CDCD– If the agency was the Rotary Club or any other local agency that had an affiliation with a candidate and especially if past donations were made by those in positions and they offered to host a forum for candidates and accepted questions via email in advance , I would be saying the same thing, it has nothing to do with who the Board members are. Endorsement by Joe ? Rumour [edit with Joe’s response]

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Local Level Politics is suppose to be free of higher level Partisan labels– Liberals, Conservatives, NDP, etc. You can figure them out for yourself based on principals but not always. The assumption is that all Local level politicians are independent and not aligned with any Party line. That is how it should be. (more…)

Meet the Candidate forum - Problem [edit-4:08pm Jan25]

Friday, January 25th, 2008

I was looking into the forum for candidates that is upcoming and went to the website here and read the about page and saw a name that was familiar.

This agency has been asked by the Town of Ajax to host a Meet the Candidate evening.
See info here.

I have a HUGE problem with everything about it. (more…)

Some other important Councillor jobs-

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

I was going to post about something else but read the recent article by Keith Gilligan
He is correct, local issues are what a councillor is all about but I happen to think local issues are not as black and white as a barking dog. (more…)
